MTR Trail Report

The New Hampton Loop is now closed other than mentioned above. Much of the property which contained the New Hampton Loop trail is now conservation land. Rerouting the Loop trail was discussed at our last meeting and hopefully a good possibility.

 ****No river crossing. No access to Hill via Pemi river crossing

 - East/West Trail is groomed (river to Winnisquam Lake)
 - Salmon Brook Trail is not groomed, however is passable with some open water
 - Northern half of Trail 300, Jct. F North is not passable due to water runoff
 - Hermit Lake north not groomed and some open water
 - Some bare spots and watch for water bars; spring conditions

Rail Trail Gates and Southern Trails Closing This Week for the Season

(Concord, NH) The NH Bureau of Trails announces that gates on the rail trails in Southern and Central NH will be closing this week for the riding season. Trail users should expect to find the gate bars closed over the next several days on the Cheshire, Ashuelot, Fort Hill, Monadnock, Hillsborough, Rockingham, Farmington, and Northern Recreational Rail Trails. Gates in Southern State Parks and Forests will also be closing for the season this week.

The snowmobile trails in Bear Brook, Pawtuckaway and Pisgah State Parks will close this week, with Snowmobile Corridor 9/11, the Concord-Lincoln Rail Corridor, closing for the season on April 1st.

The Bureau of Trails is a part of the NH Division of Parks & Recreation. The division manages over 72 state parks, campgrounds, thousands of miles of trails, historic sites, waysides, and natural areas. Pittsburg 2" new snow on a 8-16" base. Trails are groomed and riding is good. Caution: Trail Reroute Primary 138 and 139 from River Road to South Bay Trail (Corridor 5).

 

Colebrook 2" new snow on a 4-16 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is good. Caution: Some ice. Watch for logging on Primary 120 between Brooks Sugar Place and Diamond Pond.

Diamond Pond/Coleman State Park 2-3" new snow on a 28-30" base. Trails are groomed and riding is great.

Errol 3-4" new snow on a 6-16 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is good to great. Caution some trail ice. Watch for trail reroutes in the Millsfield Pond area due to logging.

Stratford 2" new snow on a 8-14 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is great. Caution: Some trail ice and bare spots. Spring Conditions

Groveton/Nash Stream 3-4 " new snow on a 24" base. Trails are groomed and riding is good. Caution some trail ice. Spring Conditions

Groveton Village 1" new snow on a 2-4 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is marginal to moderate. Caution spring conditions.

Cambridge 3-4" new snow on a 10-14" base. Trails are groomed and riding is great..

Dalton 3-4 " new snow on a 6 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is moderate to good. Caution: . Spring Conditions

Milan 3-4 " new snow on a 10-14" base. Trails are groomed and riding is great. Caution: Watch for logging on Primary 114.

Berlin 4" new snow on a 6-12" base. Trails are groomed and riding is good to great.. Use caution on plowed roads in Jericho Mtn State Park. Watch for logging on Corridor 19 south and City trail.

Berlin/Success 6" new snow on a 2-12" base. Trails are groomed and riding is good. Caution: Spring conditions.

Gorham 6" new snow on a 4-16 " base. Trails are groomed, riding is good.. Caution: some trail ice. Watch for logging Corridor 19 North of Gorham. Spring conditions.

Jefferson 3" new snow on a 0-10 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is moderate to good. Caution: Some bare spots, ice and water. Spring conditions.

Lancaster 2" on a 0-8" base. Trails are not groomed and riding is moderate to good. Caution: some open water and trail ice. Spring Conditions

Whitefield 0" new snow on a 0-4 " base. Trails are not groomed riding is marginal. Caution: some trail ice and open water. Spring conditions.

Bethlehem 3" new snow on a 3" base. Trails are groomed and riding is moderate. Caution: bare spots and ice. Spring Conditions

Franconia Notch 6" New snow on a 0-14" base. Trails are groomed and riding is good. Caution: Corridor 11 north of Cannon not groomed and has bare ground. Some trail ice. Spring conditions.

Lisbon 0" new snow on a 0-10" base. Trails are not groomed and riding is marginal in lower elevations and good in higher terrains. .. Caution: Watch for bare spots and open water bars and logging equipment in the trail on Primary 105 South. Spring Conditions.

Bartlett 2 " New snow on a 24 " base. Trails are groomed and riding is good . Caution: Expect water bars to start opening. Watch for other users. RR extended until the 4-6-08, watch for other trail users.

Sandwich 2" new snow on a 4-12" base. Some trails are groomed and riding is moderate to good. Some opening water bars, south slopes thin, Caution ponds and lakes not safe.

Plymouth 2" new snow on a 12" base. Some trails are groomed. opening water bars, RAILROAD TRACKS ARE CLOSED. SPRING RIDING CONDITION DITIONS LAKES ARE NOT SAFE still grooming notch trails.

Moultonboro 1" new snow on a 2-8" base. trails groomed Riding is marginal to good Spring conditions,open water bars and many bare spots. Some local riding. Stay off lakes and ponds not safe.

Castle Trails - Castle trails thin on south side,good up top and east side. . Stay off lake not safe.

Meredith RAILROAD CLOSED some local riding but no riding rail road and lakes not safe

W. Ossipee 1-2" new snow on a 6-12" base. Some trails are groomed and riding is moderate to good. Spring conditions, with warm temps maybe last weekend, lakes not safe.

N. Conway 1-2" New snow on a 4-12" base. Trails are groomed and riding is moderate RAILROAD CLOSED, NO RIDING SOUTH ON CORRIDOR 19 THROUGH N.CONWAY. Parking in East Conway at Town and Country.

E. Conway 2" new snow on a 6-12" base. Trails are groomed and riding is moderate. Spring riding Opening water bars. Parking available for riding north from here. Tracks to go South Closed.

Wolfeboro 1 " new snow on a 4-12" base. Not grooming Spring conditions. Watch for open water bars. Stay off lakes.

Wakefield 1" of new snow on a 6-12" base. Some trails are groomed. Riding is marginal to moderate. Caution: Open water bars. Lakes not safe. Spring conditions. spring riding conditions,lakes and ponds not safe.

New Durham 0" new snow on a 4-12" base. Some trails are not groomed riding is moderate. Gates being closed on rail grade, some good local riding reported some washout trails closed use caution.

 

Unity-Acworth Crescent Lake Grooming has stopped. Riding is fair. Spring conditions. Gates will be closing.
